Our total price is for six hours of play time. Sometimes you may not need this much time. However, we will not charge you for overtime if you need a little extra time at the end of the evening.

Yes! We offer more at a lower cost than most of our competitors. Our total price is for SIX hours of play time. We do not charge you for overtime if a little extra time at the end of the evening is needed. However, we also do not charge less if you do not need us for the entire six hours.
Each event gets the attention of two D.J.s. They act as master of ceremonies by coordinating activities and getting people involved. They will announce the entrance of the wedding party and the bride and groom. They will announce the champagne toast and the cake-cutting. They will prepare special dances such as the first dance, father-bride dance, money dance, or any others you request. They will also get guests involved for activities such as the bouquet toss and the garter toss. They will make special announcements throughout the evening. Our D.J.s do all of this while playing the music you want while creating the mood for your special evening.
We meet with you and your family a few weeks before your event. We like to meet at the reception hall so that we can go over all of the details and determine where our equipment will be set up. We go over the activities you want to do, the special dances you want included, the music you would like played, and the overall mood of the event.
Of course! We send out a music list the month prior to your event. You can choose the songs you want played from that book, as well as create a “Do Not Play” list. We will ensure that the music you want played will be played.
Melody Music D.J. requires a $50.00 deposit and a signed contract to reserve your date. The final payment of the remaining balance may be paid at the pre-meeting or on the date of your event. We accept your personal check or cash. Settling up at the pre-meeting works well for many since it will give you the freedom to relax and enjoy your event!
Because we are a full-time business, we are available everyday of the week. We book as early as months in advance, so make your reservations early! Please see the calendar on our website to check availability.
We offer every kind of music from the 1930’s to the present-day hits. We play a variety of music including dance, alternative, rock, pop, oldies, disco, Motown, big band, adult standards, jazz, funk, and much more. There are over 8000 selections, allowing for everyone to find something they like.
Yes! We encourage and gladly accept any requests. We hand out request slips to your guests to ensure that their requests are played.

One of the greatest complaints of D.J.s is that they play the music too loud. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY! During cocktails and dinner hours the speakers are positioned for even sound coverage throughout he room and set at a comfortable level. When it's dance time, the speakers are repositioned for maximum coverage on the floor and less sound exposure for the rest of the room. This means that the dance floor music will be a very comfortable level, yet powerful enough for dancing. While throughout the rest of the room the music will be softer and your guests will actually be able to carry on a normal conversation without screaming.
This is a very familiar question! Often when a prospective bride is looking for the perfect D.J., they will search for one who fits the level of interaction they're looking for, whether it is conservative or outgoing. At Melody Music D.J. we actually let you decide how much interaction you would like. We can be conservative, outgoing, or anywhere in between. By default, we will be as interactive as necessary to keep your guests dancing and having a good time. You will never hear our D.J.s yelling, screaming or even singing over the microphone. Even at our most outgoing level, we still remain totally professional and never try to steal the spotlight!

This is a very understandable concern. We, too, have heard horror stories from people who went to see a particular D.J. and then got a completely different and absolutely horrible D.J. at their event. Fortunately, our team of dedicated professionals have been entertaining since our founding. You will always meet the D.J. prior to your booking and at your pre-meeting when your D.J. will plan your reception with you.
Simply put... the sooner the better! Some of the most popular dates can and do book as early as one year in advance. Our suggestion is to be prepared to sign a contract as early as 8-12 months prior to your reception. If you are just starting your planning, try to make your final decision as soon as possible to ensure our availability.
